Blog Launch! Welcome to Then She Reads

Hi! Hello! And welcome!

Be kind, I’m a little nervous. It has been a whole 2 and half years since I have done this.

“Done what?” you may ask. Well, own a blog for starters. Also read, complete a book, review a book, or write anything that wasn’t assigned for school.

Basically it’s been while since I have been able to do a lot of the creative things I love. It was 2 and a half years ago that I found out I was going to become a mom, and for some reason, something about that event made me drop a lot of things I enjoyed. And that was fine for awhile, but now I’m really starting to miss it.

So since my departure from the online book community, I birthed an entire human who is about to turn 2, I graduated college, and I made some big life changes. All of which have lead me here.

Although Then She Reads is a book blog, it’s also going to be a bit more than that. Books were my entire existence a few years back, but now they’ve had to step aside while I take on other passions and ambitions. Things like being a mom and raising an insanely strong and independent daughter, learning new crafts (because your girl needs hobbies), creating a home for my two person family, figuring out how to make writing a career, all while binging really good Netflix shows.

Then She Reads is just the conjunction to a much longer sentence. But I do want books to be a bigger part than the rest, at least on this blog. Reading and writing and reviewing are things I love to do. I love getting to know this big community and staying on top of the evolving world of Young Adult literature.

All-in-all, what you will see here are book reviews and book themed posts, some mom life posts, and maybe a DIY or two. Over the next year I will also be following my 30 Things Before I’m 30 journey here, if you’re interested that.

So this is where you’ll find me. I hope you can gleam some value and insight from what I am exploring and putting out into the world.
